A full-depth precast deck employs a series of precast concrete panels that are full-depth in thickness — as required by structural design — with the length and width determined by specific bridge geometry. There are several methods available to connect the panels together in the field.
Partial Depth Deck Panel acts as stay-in-place form and are used to minimize deck forming. The remainder of the deck is CIP and becomes composite with the precast form.
Both methods are used to Accelerated Bridge Construction.
