Project Overview
The Morr Transfer Parking Garage is a total frame precast concrete structure that serves, among other tenants, the major architectural firm that designed it. The signature element is the facade, which incorporates horizontal railroad ties as a nod to the major railroad transportation hub it sits adjacent to.
Precast Solution
The design allows future expansion for retail shops and restaurants at street level. Pedestrian and vehicular entry points are punctuated by a stainless steel wire mesh paneling, which doubles as potential signage locations for future retail tenants.
The building’s distinctive facade design incorporates actual wooden railway ties within a framework of steel attached to the naturally tinted architectural total frame precast concrete structure. This structure is a great example of how wood and precast concrete materials can be used to complement one another. |
